About Me

Brian Bors

Licensed Independent Social Worker

I am an independently licensed social worker and have been practicing since 2011. I have an undergraduate degree from Ohio University, as well as a graduate degree from Simmons University, both of which are in social work. I have worked in various settings, including community mental health, housing, youth residential treatment, and private practice. Most recently, I’ve been particularly called to talk therapy.

Outside of work, I enjoy endurance sports, games like chess and backgammon, exploring music, and socializing with a great group of friends.

My approach to therapy is creative and collaborative. I pull from different disciplines to meet your needs and assist you with making progress toward your goals. I am constantly learning from my patients, as well as from my own continued search for meaning in life, and I strive to show up and be fully present to every session with zest, creativity, humor, and compassion. I aspire to make the relationship between patient and myself real and honest, one based on trust and transparency. I believe this is the bedrock of a productive therapeutic relationship that will foster in you the capacity for meaningful change.

Whether working with teenagers or adults, I treat my patients with unconditional positive regard, illuminating and harnessing their innate strengths to investigate new possibilities in how they relate to the world and themselves. I want you to leave sessions feeling both challenged and empowered. If we aren’t thinking outside of the box, entertaining new ways of being in the world, and exploring patterns of behavior, then why are we here?
